It might be too late for me to write about IAW (Islam Awareness Week), an event organised by our islamic society (ISOC) that has been running in the beginning of the week..but it’s better to be late than nothing..
as today is the last day of the week for IAW….the wrap-up event is a charity dinner where all the donations collected will go for Gaza Appeal..Alhamdulillah I could say it was one of the most successful events in our university..congratulations to all the committees who put all the efforts in making IAW a reality…may Allah rewards Jannah to all of you ^_^
thanks for organising such inspiring talks delivered by great speakers such as Dr Jamal Badawi, Idris Tawfiq (Former Catholic Priest) and many more. Of all the talks, I managed to attend two of them (alhamdulillah) due to the time constraint that I have..
I’d like to share what I’ve got from the talk given by Brother Idris Tawfiq which really lifted up my spirit..every single words that he said touched my heart and I could feel his sincerity in his words….and it brought happy tears to my eyes seeing him standing strong as a Muslim with full of compassion in Islam where he was once a Christian before..
As I quote from him, he described Islam in 3 words..
“Islam is GENTLE, SWEET and BEAUTIFUL like Honey…” but even it’s gentle, it’s very strong!
He said there is no difference between life and religion..our religion is the key of how we lead our life..afterall, if we obey Allah’s will, we’ll receive blessings in doing that..and vice versa..
“And obey God and the Messenger so that you may receive mercy” (3:132).
Therefore, we should thank Allah for giving us another day to breathe and live in the world that He created for us..do as many good deeds for the sake of Allah because we never know how do we end our lives..
And as Muslims, we should have nothing to fear about because we believed that Allah is in control of everything…and He has planned every single thing that we have know nothing about…but we believed that He would never let those He loved suffer…
to conclude, his speech is simple, very meaningful and easily understood.. I wish he could spend more time for the talk next time round..hehe
p/s: alhamdulillah..im happy seeing those lovely faces (adik2, kakak2 dan sahabat2 seperjuangan) that came for the talks, supporting from behind, or be involved in the team line up itself…Ya Rahim, tautkan hati2 kami di jalanMu hingga pengakhiran hidup kami..Amin Ya Rabbal ‘Alamin..
